Cameron Diaz will star in Columbia Pictures’ raunchy comedy Bad Teacher , reports Variety . To be directed by Jake Kasdan, the film concerns a foul-mouthed seventh grade teacher who is dumped by her sugar daddy and starts to pursue a colleague, which provokes conflict with the school’s model teacher. “The Office” writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky wrote the script.

There’s a saying that you can’t go home again, but obviously no one told that to Broken Lizard’s Steve Lemme who worked at City Crab on Park and 19th for six years, an experienced that acted as the catalyst for the comedy team to make The Slammin’ Salmon , their fifth feature film. Back in New York to wrap-up their six-month cross-country comedy tour, Lemme and the guys–Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske–found themselves back at City Crab to do interviews for the movie as well as to host an absolutely crazy “Salmon Chowder Eating Contest” that brought out the best of the best in competitive eating to chow down large bowls of cold chowder which looked like it had the consistency of glue. Although casting for The Hobbit starts this week, Peter Jackson told MTV that there are two “Lord of the Rings” stars who will most likely be returning in addition to the previously-announced Ian McKellen: “Gandalf, being a 2,000-year-old wizard, is still around and plays a major role in ‘The Hobbit,’ and we’re having Ian McKellen reprise,” explained the filmmaker, who is executive-producing the flick and writing the screenplay. “There’s a couple of other characters: Elrond, who was played by Hugo Weaving [in the original films], and there’s a possibility of Galadriel, who was played by Cate Blanchett.” Shooting on the Guillermo del Toro-directed films is scheduled to start around April or May.
