Two New Avatar Photos

Fox International has released two more photos from Avatar , coming to theaters on December 18. The photos, which you can make bigger by clicking on them below, feature Sam Worthington as Jake Sully and his avatar, plus James Cameron filming. Avatar is the story of an ex-Marine who finds himself thrust into hostilities on an alien planet filled with exotic life forms.

James Marsden, Kate Bosworth and Alexander Skarsgard were announced as the principal cast over the last few months and recently, Walton Goggins from “The Shield” was announced as having joined the project.   • Alex Holmes has been hired to direct a biopic of car designer John DeLorean that Time Inc. Studios and XYZ Films will produce. Holmes, who most recently wrote and directed the HBO and BBC miniseries “House of Saddam,” developed the DeLorean script with co-writer Rob Warr.

  • Universal Pictures has acquired “Criminal Macabre,” the Dark Horse Entertainment comic book miniseries created by Steve Niles. Variety says that Kyle Ward has been set to write the script. The story centers around a supernatural detective who doubles as hitman, taking out all the vampires, ghosts and other unsavory monsters who live among humans, hiding in the shadows by day and emerging at night

    ABC is developing “St. Elmo’s Fire,” a contemporary take on the 1985 movie that launched the filmmaking career of Joel Schumacher, says The Hollywood Reporter . The network landed the dramedy series project, executive produced by Schumacher, Topher Grace, Dan Bucatinsky and Jamie Tarses and to be written by Bucatinsky.
