Len Wiseman ( Live Free or Die Hard , “Underworld” films) is in final negotiations to direct Columbia Pictures’ Total Recall , it was announced today by Doug Belgrad and Matt Tolmach, presidents of Columbia Pictures. According to The Hollywood Reporter , adult star Sasha Grey, who impressed many with her mainstream feature debut in Steven Soderbergh’s The Girlfriend Experience last year, is up for a role in Mark Pellington’s indie drama I Melt with You . The film follows three college buddies, played by Thomas Jane, Rob Lowe and Jeremy Piven, who look back on the emptiness of their lives during a summer reunion

Comedian Rob Schneider, fresh off his appearance in Adam Sandler’s hit comedy Grown Ups , will be entering the world of family animation with Norm of the North , a new 3D animated film from Crest Animation, directed by Anthony Bell, who also made the upcoming Lionsgate animated movie Alpha and Omega (out September 17). Schneider voices the title role with Ken Jeong and Loretta Devine also joining the voice cast. The premise involves the title character, a polar bear named Norm, and his three Arctic lemming friends, who end up in New York City after their Arctic home starts to melt

I got to watch Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World at Comic-Con last week and I’ve been kicking myself about not writing anything about it since. I saw at a special secret premiere on Thursday night, which I followed with Flynn’s Arcade’s re-opening , then lots of glorious sleep because I was already exhausted and immediately crashed after I returned to my hotel.

Though many will agree that The Spirit may indeed be one of the worst comic book movies of all-time, that doesn’t take away any of writer Will Eisner’s influence on graphic novels and their eventual acceptance as true form of literature. As a matter of fact, Eisner’s graphic novel which brought credibility to the medium is now heading to the big screen. THR reports A Contract with God will be adapted into a live-action film with directors Alex Rivera ( Sleep Dealer ), Tze Chun ( Children of Invention ), Barry Jenkins ( Medicine for Melancholy ) and Sean Baker ( Prince of Broadway ) each helming one chapter of the story on screen.

As promised this morning with the first official poster , Warner Bros has debuted the first official trailer (via Yahoo ) for Yogi Bear in 3D (don’t forget) to go along with the stench that picnic-basket-strewn poster left. Despite featuring the voices of Dan Aykroyd as Yogi Bear and Justin Timberlake as Boo-Boo, this really doesn’t look that good at all
