Back in June we learned that Con-Air director Simon West would be at the helm of The Expendables 2 which is aiming for an August 17th, 2012 release, but aside from the assumption that surviving cast members from the first film would return, we’ve yet to hear information on any new cast members. However, Novinite (via Collider ) recently spoke with David Varod, CEO of the Bulgarian film company Nu Boyana , who talked about some films shooting in the country, including the action sequel.

On Friday, moviegoers will be able to see how Andy Serkis brought Caesar to life in Rise of the Planet of the Apes and later this year he’s playing Captain Haddock in Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin . He follows that up with his anticipated return to Gollum in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit films, movies which he is also directing the 2nd Unit for. Production is moving along on Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises , as tons of details rush in from the Pittsburgh shoot. Today, Just Jared snapped several pictures of Tom Hardy in full costume as Bane and onlookers filmed some video that, due the potential spoilers involved, will be described beneath the images. The following YouTube videos offer a look at one of the film’s action sequences that seems to involve a prison explosion and the subsequent escape of Gotham City inmates
