  • The new indie trailer I’m featuring today is an extended trailer for Ian Fitzgibbon’s Irish gangster dramedy Perrier’s Bounty , which I first saw at the Toronto Film Festival late last year ( read my review ). It’s not exactly an incredible film, but it is pretty damn good. And the best thing about it is the fantastic Irish (and British) cast that includes Cillian Murphy , Jim Broadbent , Brendan Gleeson , and Jodie Whittaker (who starred in that Peter O’Toole film Venus )

  • Adam Brody, Alia Shawkat and Allison Janney are in negotiations to join the previously-announced Hugh Laurie, Leighton Meester and Catherine Keener in family dramedy The Oranges . The film centers on a man (Laurie) who has a romantic relationship with the daughter (Meester) of a family friend. That turns their lives, and the lives of their families, upside down.

  • Now that you’ve seen it, what did you think? Opening in theaters this weekend is Kevin Smith’s ninth feature film, called Cop Out , following Zack and Miri Make a Porno from 2008. It’s a modern day buddy cop comedy in the same vein as the Lethal Weapon movies of the 80’s, but is it as good those?
