I’m not entirely sure if this is connected with the “Widen your gaze Mr. Holmes” mini-viral from August , however, I get the feeling that this is the next step in that game. Earlier today I received an email in my inbox with a telegram saying: “London seethes with crime — STOP — find your partner upon whom you will rely — STOP — evidence secured for your advance assessment — STOP — the game is afoot — STOP — make all haste to 221B now.” It then linked to a site located at 221B.sh where users can visit and participate in a viral game on Facebook for the upcoming Sherlock Holmes movie

I know we’ve still got a good two months left in the year and most of the heavy-hitting films haven’t even been seen by anyone yet, but it’s never too early to talk about the Oscars. Over the past week, Tom O’Neil of the LA Times’ Gold Derby blog polled some 16 Oscar pundits and film critics to get an early pulse on what they think are top contenders right now for Best Picture .
