  • Although I know not everyone is as big of a fan of Steven Soderbergh as I, he’s still a great director that makes solid films. Now that The Informant is out, he’s starting prep on a spy thriller called Knockout that will star real life MMA fighter, and hottie, Gina Carano .

  • Earlier this month it was announced that My Bloody Valentine director Patrick Lussier would be helming the fast-tracked Halloween 3-D for release next summer. But it looks like The Weinstein Company’s Dimension Films might have bitten off more than they can chew, which isn’t surprising considering the overwhelming amount of other projects they’ve got on their upcoming slate.  Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood snagged a scoop on the sudden stop of pre-production on Halloween 3-D with a whole slew of potential reasons coming out of the woodwork. But she might have already gotten to the bottom of this.

  • Recently we saw Jessica Alba in the trailer premiere for the ensemble romantic comedy Valentine’s Day .  And while there’s no doubt she’s still got the looks and a bit of charm to keep some of us interested, the trailer confirmed that it’s another in a long line of generic and dull career choices for Alba. She just might have a chance to turn that all around as Variety reports that Alba is in talks to join the third installment of the Meet the Parents films which as far as we know is still being called Little Fockers .  Perhaps she’ll get the chance to show her more comedic side which unfortunately didn’t ever show up in The Love Guru .
