Apatow Signs Three-Picture Deal

pJudd Apatow (”Knocked Up,” “The 40-Year-Old Virgin”) has signed to write and direct a further three films for Universal Pictures says the trades./p pThe deal, which came together on the release of the third film (”Funny People”) he directed for the studio, also allows Apatow to produce projects elsewhere./p pNo projects, which will also be written by Apatow, have been set. Though he’s produced a lot, Apatow has generally directed a film every two years – meaning he’ll likely be with the studio through 2015./p

Adriana Santos, a member of a radio battalion. Pena plays the father of a boy the Marines find along the way, and Moynahan plays a veterinarian./p pJonathan Liebesman helms the film which Neal Moritz is producing

  • Spielberg Helming Matt Helm Film?

    pSteven Spielberg is set to produce a film about fictional secret agent Matt Helm as an upcoming project reports a href=”http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118006669.html?categoryid=13amp;cs=1″Variety/a./p pNovelist Donald Hamilton created the character who starred in a series of 27 novels about a government agent whose mission is to take down enemy agents./p pSpielberg, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are set to produce. Paul Attanasio delivered a rewrite last week which reportedly renewed Spielberg’s interest in the project./p pParamount Pictures retained rights to the project which was developed by DreamWorks, which means Spielberg is unlikely to direct./p

  • Disney and Pixar keep denying it, but we keep discovering things that seem to say it’s true. Jim Hill Media published an interesting article looking at a batch of new domain names that Disney recently registered. I know that this is kind of bottom-of-the-barrel snooping, but it’s one of the only ways to get unofficial early confirmation.

Nacho is a crazy up-and-coming filmmaker from Spain who treated us to the time travel film Timecrimes last year and was nominated for an Oscar for his short 7:35 in the Morning . He’s now set to direct Gangland , an action comedy based on his own original idea that’s being written by Pat Healy .
